Lara and James Accept Tenancy at Unit Chambers

We’re pleased to announce that, having successfully completed pupillage at Unit Chambers, Lara Webber and James Woods have accepted invitations to join Chambers as members.

Both Lara and James began pupillage with Unit in September 2025 and have spent the past year developing their experience across a broad range of family law work.

For James, the opportunity to gain experience across different areas of family law was a key part of his pupillage:

“Pupillage at Unit completely exceeded my expectations. During first six, I was able to identify areas in which I thought my knowledge and experience was lacking and fill those gaps by shadowing other members as well as my supervisor.”

He went on to gain experience conducting interim and final hearings in public and private law children cases, financial remedy proceedings and complex multi-day fact-finding hearings.

“Throughout the entire process, all members have been incredibly supportive, accommodating and reassuring. No question goes unanswered,” James said.

“It is because of the fact that I have been able to build a busy practice across all disciplines of family law, as well as my experience interacting with all other members of Chambers, that made my decision to accept tenancy a very easy one to make.”

Lara also highlighted the support she received throughout her pupillage:

“Pupillage at Unit has been such an enriching experience from the start and the overwhelming support I have received from all members of Chambers throughout the experience. Cannot picture my future career growing anywhere else.”

We’re delighted to welcome Lara and James as members of Unit and look forward to supporting them as they continue to develop their practices at Chambers.
